Handwriting Analysis... since everyone's doing it

It's so bizarre. Some are spot on.

Welcome Rome Romulo, here is your handwriting analysis.

Rome uses judgment to make decisions. He is ruled by his head, not his heart. He is a cool, collected person who is usually unexpressive emotionally. Some may see him as unemotional. He does have emotions but has no need to express them. He is withdrawn into himself and enjoys being alone.

The circumstances when Rome does express emotions include: extreme anger, extreme passion, and tremendous stress. If someone gets him mad enough to tell him off, he will not be sorry about it later. He puts a mark in his mind when someone angers him. He keeps track of these marks and when he hits that last mark he will let them know they have gone too far. He is ruled somewhat by self-interest. All his conclusions are made without outside emotional influence. He is very level-headed and will remain calm in an emergency situation. In a situation where other people might get hysterical, he has poise.

Rome will work more efficiently if given space and time to be alone. He would rather not be surrounded by people constantly. In a relationship, he will show his love by the things he does rather than by the things he says. Saying "I love you" is not a needed routine because he feels his mate should already know. The only exception to this is if he has logically concluded that it is best for his mate to hear him express his love verbally.

Rome is not subject to emotional appeals. If someone is selling a product to him, they will need to present only the facts. They should present them from a standpoint of his sound judgment. He will not be taken in by an emotional story about someone else. He will meet emergencies without getting hysterical and he will always ask "Is this best for me?"

People that write their letters in an average height and average size are moderate in their ability to interact socially. According to the data input, Rome doesn't write too large or too small, indicating a balanced ability to be social and interact with others.

Rome is not facing something going on in his life today. He is deceiving himself about it. Often, Rome's opinion of himself is different than those around him. This trait gives Rome the ability to deny anything that does not agree with his "truth." This trait is not always something negative. It is only a defense mechanism allowing Rome not to face some reality in his life at this time.

Rome has a desire for attention. People around Rome will notice this need. He may fulfill this need by a variety of ways depending on his own character.

In reference to Rome's mental abilities, he has a very investigating and creating mind. He investigates projects rapidly because he is curious about many things. He gets involved in many projects that seem good at the beginning, but he soon must slow down and look at all the angles. He probably gets too many things going at once. When Rome slows down, then he becomes more creative than before. Since it takes time to be creative, he must slow down to do it. He then decides what projects he has time to finish. Thus he finishes at a slower pace than when he started the project.

He has the best of two kinds of minds. One is the quick investigating mind. The other is the creative mind. His mind thinks quick and rapidly in the investigative mode. He can learn quicker, investigate more, and think faster. Rome can then switch into his low gear. When he is in the slower mode, he can be creative, remember longer and stack facts in a logical manner. He is more logical this way and can climb mental mountains with a much better grip.

Rome's true self-image is unreasonably low. Someone once told Rome that he wasn't a great and beautiful person, and he believed them. Rome also has a fear that he might fail if he takes large risks. Therefore he resists setting his goals too high, risking failure. He doesn't have the internal confidence that frees him to take risks and chance failure. Rome is capable of accomplishing much more than he is presently achieving. All this relates to his self-esteem. Rome's self-concept is artificially low. Rome will stay in a bad situation much too long... why? Because he is afraid that if he makes a change, it might get worse. It is hard for Rome to plan too far into the future. He kind of takes things on a day to day basis. He may tell you his dreams but he is living in today, with a fear of making a change. No matter how loud he speaks, look at his actions. This is perhaps the biggest single barrier to happiness people not believing in and loving themselves. Rome is an example of someone living with a low self-image, because their innate self-confidence was broken.

One way Rome punishes himself is self directed sarcasm. He is a very sarcastic person. Often this sarcasm and "sharp tongued" behavior is directed at himself.

Rome will take action on his thoughts. He is positive that his views are correct for him. He has the ability to seem as if he is positively correct when answering a question, even if he does not have the slightest idea of the answer. Rome displays a self-confidence that makes everyone else sure he is correct. He is positive of his own views, but not necessarily stubborn.

Rome is selective when picking friends. He does not trust everyone. He has a select group of people that are truly close to him, usually two or three. He is careful when choosing his inner circle of friends.

Rome has a healthy imagination and displays a fair amount of trust. He lets new people into his circle of friends. He uses his imagination to understand new ideas, things, and people.

Rome has a very unusual lower zone y loop. If the data input is correct, Rome's y or g is large and opens up to the left side of the page. This is not a common trait, but the implications are very interesting. As you begin to study handwriting analysis, you will learn any loop indicates imagination. This lower loop indicates the amount of imagination Rome has regarding sex and physical things. So, his lower zone stroke is large, so his sexual imagination is large and open. Furthermore, because the loop is incomplete and extends to the left, this indicates a particular fascination with certain aspects of sexuality that have not been fulfilled, yet. In a nutshell, Rome is open to some very new ideas sexually and is willing to try anything once.

Rome has a very unusual lower zone y loop. If the data input is correct, Rome's y or g is large and has triangle shape to the lower loop. This is not a common trait, but the implications are very interesting. As you begin to study handwriting analysis, you will learn any loop indicates imagination. This lower loop indicates the amount of imagination Rome has regarding sex and physical things. His lower zone stroke is large, so his sexual imagination is large and open. Furthermore, because the loop has a triangle shape, this indicates a particular curiosity with certain aspects of sexuality. In a nutshell, Rome is open to some very new ideas sexually and is willing to try anything once. I'd say Rome is quite a dynamic and playful lover. Watch out world!

For a graphologist, the spacing on the page reflects the writer's attitude toward their own world and relationship to things in his or her own space. If the inputted data was correct Rome has no white space or margins on a typical sheet of paper. Rome fills up every last inch on the top, right, left, and bottom. Hmmm. If this is true, then Rome has a very aggressive personality toward others and quite frankly lacks a bit of respect for the space and property of other people. I would be surprised if Rome just comes into someone's home and helps himself to a drink in the refrigerator. This can be both an obnoxious personality trait and it can be assertive and effective in getting what you want. There isn't much fear of getting in trouble here, Rome finds plenty of reasons to break the rules and get in trouble. (Okay, perhaps when he was younger, not anymore?) Basically, people with no margins are a handful.

Why our Medicine Bottles are so damn hard to open

Have you ever tried to open a medicine bottle and have a hard time trying to open it? You grip it and twist it several times only to be frustrated that it's still closed? Your hand and fingers end up hurting in the process?

Yeah, this isn't unusual, especially if it's medicine form the U.S., where it's almost impossible to open one. We often complain how hard it is to open such bottles. After all, it shouldn't be that hard to get pain relievers or something, right? Wrong. We all think that it protects us from people tampering with the contents, that it ensures us of safe medicine. Damn right.

I was watching an ETC special: 20 Shocking, Unsolved Crimes on the tube when I found this creepy discovery.

In the early 1980s in Chicago, people died from consuming a capsule of Tylenol (America's favorite painkiller). The first victim was a seven year old girl who complained to her parents of body pains. Her parents gave her a pill and sent her back to her bed. Hours later, she was dead. In another district in Chicago, three people (a man, his wife and brother) were found dead in an apartment. They also consumed the capsule. Local authorities, after studying the bodies (autopsy or something) found that all of them died after downing the Tylenol capsule. Several people, in different parts of the windy city were found dead because of the capsule.

It was revealed that the victim's Tylenol capsules were filled with potassium cyanide, 10 000 times more than what the body could sustain (or something...). The company manufacturing the product ordered a recall of all Tylenol products from the entire country reportedly costing them $120M. No one knows who did such a heinous act, or who they were actually targeting. It was assumed that the killer did it just for kicks, kind of a psychopath. The police couldn't find any clues. After all, it was masterfully crafted and orchestrated perfectly.

The Tylenol capsules were placed in a box that was not tightly sealed. Anyone could grab one, replace the contents with the poison and seal it like it previously had been and leave it at a supermarket. This terrifying act of terrorism gave birth to a law that states that anyone who tampers with medicine and the like will be considered or charged as a criminal offense.

It's scary to think that the daily vitamins we could be ingesting MIGHT be poisonous. But it never crossed our minds since we always find it hard to open the bottles. Well, I'm not complaining. Ever.

I'll just share a quick gossip. My aunt went to St. James for the 10am Mass yesterday. She didn't know her seatmate was none other than Lea Salonga! During the peace-be-with-you portion, when she turned to her side, Lea Salonga greeted her, "Peace." My aunt was soooo taken aback, surprised that she forgot to say, "Peace be with you."
Brooke White Exit Q&A

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Brooke, I didn't think you'd be the one to go this week.
BROOKE WHITE: Yeah, obviously, I was pretty upset about it. I wanted to be strong. I really did. But I melted. I cracked. I became the sobbing, vulnerable Brooke for the 50 billionth time. People were probably like, ''Oh, please. Just stop.'' I just barely got through ''I Am...I Said.''

When I sat in on rehearsals last week, you were going to just have an acoustic guitar on ''I Am...I Said.'' And you were playing with the ''I'm a Believer'' arrangement. What happened?
I felt like I'd done so many serious songs, which is kind of me, but beyond my serious side I am lighthearted and fun and I like having a good time and being joyful. I kind of had some challenges picking a Neil Diamond song that worked for me. But I couldn't exactly say that to the audience. As far as starting on the guitar, I just had a strong feeling playing it on the piano. I loved both. They were complimentary about ''I Am...I Said.'' I don't know. I could analyze it to death. I could take it apart. It would make no difference. I am where I am at. And hey, I made it to the top 5.

The judges seemed to always want you to channel your inner Carly Simon, and then when you did, they'd tell you to step out of your comfort zone. How did you make sense of what they said to you?
It's a constant contradiction. I appreciate that the judges have to do their jobs. They've given me great feedback, but some of it makes no sense at all. There is no formula to how this works. You try to stay in your zone and then you're predictable. You get out of your zone and then it's like, ''Well, you should stay in your zone.'' At one point, I was getting pretty steady good feedback from them. But then it got rough. But all the while I don't think I changed my strategy.

So what went wrong?
The arrangement isn't always in your hands. I wanted to make ''I'm a Believer'' into something fresh and cool and new. At the end of the day, though, in an hour of rehearsal you have to do two songs, and there's only so much you can do. So I just went forward and hoped.

When you were backstage with David Cook and Syesha, did you think you were in trouble?
I knew that morning that I was going home. It was just a gut feeling. It's funny, though — regardless of what Simon said about Tuesday night being a ''nightmare,'' in the room it was not. It was really well received by the audience. For the first time in a couple of weeks I felt like I was completely present. I was in it. I had a confidence which I had been lacking. After the show Simon commented, ''Maybe that didn't work for you.''

He meant that people like you without confidence?
Yeah. It's like, Thanks, dude. He says what he thinks. Maybe he's right. Who knows? I leave knowing that I really enjoyed it. I walked off that stage with not a tear.

How weird was it for all of you when Paula made her now-infamous blunder, commenting on Jason Castro's second song before he sang it?
I don't know exactly what happened with Paula. It was a confusing night. People make mistakes, like last week when I stopped and started again. It's live television. We're humans. And humans make errors. Some people like to hold onto things for a long time.

When we met last week, you told me that you tortured yourself about starting over. How did you move past that?
You know, it didn't hit me what I did until after it was over. Like, how did that just happen? The situation can do some pretty funny things to you. You're a fish out of water. Sometimes I feel really at home on stage, and sometimes I don't. It's all over my face when I'm comfortable.

I think that's what people like about you.
Or hate about me.

Do you think people hated you?
Well, hate is a strong word, but maybe I wasn't everyone's favorite.

The judges told me that they think it will be a David Cook vs. David Archuleta finale. Did you all know that's how they felt?
I don't know how to answer that question. It's very clear they're strong contestants. They've done pretty well and they've been pretty consistent, so it's a fairly easy observation to make. At the same time, the show is very unpredictable. Look at Chris Daughtry. Look at Michael Johns. It's in the country's hands. Sometimes people don't vote when they think someone is safe. So anything could happen.

Do you have anything good to say about being voted off?
I talked to Carly Simon this morning. I was doing an interview and they got her on the line. She was so kind and generous with her thoughts and comments. I felt like I could relate to her, even her voice. This little raspy thing I have has taken me years to accept. Some days I wish I could belt out notes. But she just gave me wonderful and generous thoughts. It was incredible and gave me a real boost to make it through this day.

Will you be focusing on recording now that you're off the show?
Yeah. I did an independent album before the show. I didn't have a record deal. But I'm here. I'm in Van Nuys. I'm here to do this. I'm here to work.

So you won't be going back to the nanny gig anytime soon? Because I bet you could get a raise.
The family always joked they'd give me a raise if I went back. They're the most gorgeous kids, and I love them to pieces. But, well, I'll just say I don't mind babysitting every once in a while.

That's not the case. I just feel like, what's the point in going out all upset and pissed off? There's no point. What happens happens. Everything happens for a reason. I truly believe when it's your time, it's your time, and I'm just excited now that I'm free to make a record. The show's only got a few weeks left. It's not like I went out top 100 or whatever. I made the top 6. That's huge! I'm really, really pleased and very satisfied with that. I definitely think that's a huge achievement, and it's more than I ever thought I would get. So I'm stoked. I was stoked top 8, 7, whatever.
Were you surprised to go home before some others who didn't really seem to fare nearly as well on Tuesday?
You know, I've been asked this question all morning. And I know what you're talking about, and I'm sure she knows what [you're] talking about. But I kind of sat down with everybody before I left, and I'm not surprised. Some people have bigger fanbases than I had, and that's okay. My fans were very good to me, and they kept me in as long as they did. And I truly believe when you have a good night, it is maybe the kiss of death, because your fans don't power-vote for you like if you had a bad night. And that's just the way it goes. And I have no hard feelings. I love everyone on the show, and I wish them all the best. [Brooke] had a blunder, but I truly believe after the blunder, she gave a knockout performance. Cut the blunder out, and go from where she restarted her song, and I think it was great.
So do you think that Simon did give you the kiss of death by complimenting you?
Maybe. I don't know. Maybe he did it on purpose. [Laughs]
But you were in the bottom three after your stunning performance of ''Blackbird,'' which Simon was hard on as well.
Everyone kept saying, ''Don't try to impress Simon,'' and it was like, well, everyone's clearly listening to what he's saying, because every time that I'm in the bottom section, it's because he was unpleased with anything that I did. But he set the bar very high for me early on. A lot higher than he did for any of the other contestants. Whether somebody else forgot their lyrics or whatever, I could go out and do something great and he still wasn't going to like it. I felt satisfied with everything that I did. Words cannot describe what goes through the mind of Simon Cowell. You just don't know what he's going to say. So I went out there, gave it everything I had, enjoyed every moment of it. I have no regrets, and all I can do is move forward now. There's no theme nights anymore, so I can be myself and make my record and be creative and not sing cover songs. American Idol is this huge pedestal, and they know their stuff, the people on that show. They're amazing. They really are. They've helped me so much. And I owe them. I don't think ''thank you'' is enough.
You've acknowledged that the judges were particularly hard on you this season, even on the show. Besides singing while riding a unicycle and pouring a Guinness, what do you think you could have done to impress them?
Maybe I'd do that in the future. Sometimes it was a little bit [disconcerting], if you know what I mean. Simon said to me that he truly believes in me, and he truly wanted me to just be great, and I went out there and I tried every time, but there were a few nights that I was put off a little bit because, you know, he didn't really give me the most encouraging support. But I don't know. Maybe he thought that was the greatest way to do it, and that's okay. I took everything that they said, and I've taken it in, and I will use every ounce of guidance that they gave me, because I don't see it as criticism. I see it as guidance. It's not meant to be just negative. They're trying to tell you something. They've all been in the industry forever. And who am I to come out and say, ''You're just being a jerk''? I believe they truly have an agenda behind what they're saying, and they truly have a meaning behind what they're saying, whether each contestant gets the meaning, or just gets upset by it.
What about the time he critiqued your look on Dolly Parton night? That couldn't have felt good...
I understand what he meant by he wanted me to be a star. I think that I kind of upped my look a little bit [since]. I think I looked all right that night; I didn't think I looked bad. But I understood what he meant by, Put on the glitz a little bit and look like a star. But I came from a bar. I don't necessarily know what a star is supposed to be, how they're supposed to act or whatever. You know, that's just part of learning. And I think I learned a lot on the show, and I'm very, very grateful to the show.

You said you weren't surprised to be leaving earlier, but you said last night that you were planning to have fun from here on out...
I didn't necessarily mean on the show. I just meant life in general, in every performance that I ever do from now on. Whether I'm on the show or not, I'm going to stay true to who I am, and just do music I really enjoy. I've always said that Heart has influenced me hugely. They are one of my favorite bands. I think their music is killer. That kind of pop-rock vibe, and just hitting those power ballads and stuff like that, it's just all who I am. I listen to Lynyrd Skynyrd all day, and I drive a truck. I'm hardly going to go out and give a pop performance. That's just not who I am. I always have a little bit of an edge to what I do.

That's pretty clear based on your performances throughout the show.
''Here You Come Again,'' the original — Dolly Parton is the most fun-spirited person that I've ever come across. She's amazing. But for me, I prefer to strip it down to a guitar just to give it a little bit more of an edge. Make it a little bit more me.
After Ryan told Jason he was safe last night, what did Jason say to you?
I don't remember. It was probably something very Jason Castro to say. He's so funny. He comes out with the most bizarre things. He's really come out of his shell as well. He was very shy before. We all were, and the last few weeks we've kind of loosened up a bit and realized how fun this all is. But he says the strangest things at the strangest moments, and it's great. I think he truly believed he was in the bottom two, which was funny. Oh, I know what he was saying. He didn't want to sing his song again, because I don't think he remembered the words.
Ha! Well, at least he wouldn't have been the only one. What were you talking about with Ryan when Syesha was performing her possible exit performance?
Ryan was asking about me and Syesha being roommates and that we'd picked the most up-tempo songs of the night, and it was funny that both of us ended up in the bottom two.
What were you going to sing next week?
I wanted to do ''Sweet Caroline,'' and I wanted to do it with a cello and a piano.
Interesting! Too bad we won't be able to see it. What's next for you after the Idol tour?
Making a record. Being creative, writing songs, making a career for myself.

Kristy Lee's Exit Q&A... I know you want to read it

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Kristy Lee, I am very impressed with how you went out last night. You have guts to sit on a table and sing ''Forever'' to Simon.
KRISTY LEE COOK: Yeah, it was kind of my last time on the stage. I just wanted to go over to Simon and let him know I wasn't scared of him. I had enough confidence to go and sit right in front of him.
How did that work? Did you coordinate it ahead of time with the stage manager?
When it was getting close to Ryan announcing the results, I said, ''Can we do what we want on stage? Because I'm going to sit on Simon's lap and sing.'' [Debbie, the stage manager] said, ''You are?'' and I said, ''Yes, I am.''
How did the lap song get nixed?
I was planning to sit on his lap, but he's got a girlfriend and I have a fiancé. I just thought it was inappropriate.
You managed to make Simon blush.
I know! He told me it was very awkward for him. I was like, ''Now you know what it's like to be us.''
Nice lyric change when you sang ''Still I burn on and on/ All of my life/ Only for a good comment from you.''
I don't even know where that came from. I did it on the spur of the moment. I don't even know what I said.
So did you know you were going home?
I didn't. I really thought I was going to be okay this week. I thought I did my best job on the song this week; I thought I hit all the notes. It's the most vocally challenging song I did this year so far. When I was done, I thought Simon was going to feed off of Paula and say he enjoyed it.
When you and Brooke were standing up there, it looked like you were telling her that you thought you were going home, and she was saying it hadn't been decided. What did we miss?
Yeah, that was pretty much it. She had really thought she was going to go home. I told her ''No... You're not going anywhere. Don't worry about it. It's going to be me.'' I was comforting her. I had a gut feeling then it was going to be me.
Were you annoyed that you had to comfort Brooke?
No, we pretty much have become like sisters. She was having a hard time with my leaving. It's hard leaving. I was like, ''Don't worry.''
When you put that ''Kristy's seat'' sign on the bottom-three stools a few weeks back, you won me over with your sense of humor about yourself.
Thanks. Some people didn't like it. They thought maybe I thought they weren't voting enough for me. I was trying to be myself and break the ice and be funny.

Did you pick ''God Bless the U.S.A.'' for strategic reasons, as Simon implied? I actually picked that song for my dad, because he is a veteran. I sang that song a lot, so I knew I would do that instantly. People thought I did it just for votes and stuff, but I was just doing a song I was comfortable with. And it was nice to do something patriotic. Nobody does anything patriotic, and I had a chance, so why not?

You were slammed for turning ''8 Days a Week'' into a country song. Do you want to apologize to Paul McCartney?
No, a lot of people liked that version. It's basically personal preference. If Simon had said ''It's amazing,'' everyone else would have thought differently. He didn't, so unfortunately people didn't like it. All I heard when I was working on it all week was that it was good.
Did you ever think you should ditch country and just try to sing pop?
I can probably sing it, but my heart is in country, so no. I just wish I had been able to do more stuff I love. I wish I could have shown a lot more of my potential than was shown on the show. Most everyone hasn't seen the real performance side of me, and that's because I haven't had a chance to show that. They'll definitely see that on tour.
What do you mean? The kind of songs you want to sing, or how you perform on stage?
Both. But on tour I'm picking the songs I want to do, and I'll be able to perform and move all over the stage and get really into the songs.
Will you be moving to L.A. to pursue music now?
I'm definitely going to go home first and then come back for the tour. After that, maybe there will be record deals in Nashville.
The world of horse fans is dying to know: Can you get your horse back?
No. The guy won't sell him back to me. But he has a good home. It's kind of unfortunate that he won't sell him back. But I know why. He's such a cool horse. I'd rather have him in a cool home than a bad home. The owner has been keeping in touch with me and sending me pictures of him. It sucks he won't give him back.
What were you going to sing during Andrew Lloyd Webber week?
I was going to do ''Don't Cry for Me Argentina.'' Oh well. It happened for a reason.
Too bad. What a great song.
I know. It sucks I won't be able to sing it. It just really stinks.

Michael John's Exit Q&A (waaaaay late)

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Michael, one of my colleagues is threatening to move to Canada because he can't live in a country that would vote you off American Idol.
MICHAEL JOHNS: You are so sweet. But this year more than any other year it's week-to-week. You can't say someone is going to make it through because they had a good week. People have to vote.

You looked so completely shocked. Were you thinking that Syesha and Carly had such mediocre performances that for sure you'd be safe?
It wasn't like that. Back there it was me, Kristy, Jason, Syesha, and Carly. I was like, ''Okay, I get what's going on. This is going to be a shocker week.'' I hadn't been in the bottom three before, and everyone is due for that. I didn't think I was going home, though. It just goes to show you that you never know.

Was Ryan unnecessarily cruel when he went on about how no one was kicked off last year during ''Idol Gives Back'' week, and then said you were kicked off?
You know what? I'd be lying if I didn't say that was pretty cruel. That one was a tough one. When Ryan said I had the lowest number of votes, he gave me this look as if to say, ''Mate, you know I don't want to say this right now.'' But it's a TV show, and at the end of the day, it's entertainment.

You looked pretty shaken up. Was it hard to compose yourself?
I wasn't, like, destroyed or anything. I probably would have been more sad if I felt I didn't sing the song as good as I could, and if I didn't hit those high notes. There was a moment when I took a really deep breath in and I saw my wife, and she said, ''I love you.'' I just exhaled then. If you re-watch, you'll see I just switched then. I thought, ''Just suck it up. This is the last time you're going to perform on this stage.''

You re-watched the show already? Isn't that a little masochistic?
I just wanted to know how I sang at the end.

From watching it, you could tell how shocked everyone was. What was it like up on stage?
It was insane. You could hear a pin drop initially. Paula's jaw was wide open, and even Simon looked at me as if to say he wasn't expecting that. Everyone started booing.

Was Simon right that you made the wrong song choice?
[Aerosmith's] ''Dream On'' is an American classic. I'm living the dream right now. Every week I've chosen songs because they mean something to me.

What did the judges say after the cameras were off?
They were really sweet. Paula grabbed me and said, ''Oh, please. You're going to have so many offers come your way.'' Randy told me to stick to the blues. And to have Simon say on camera that he's going to miss me and that I'm a good guy was great. You can't ask for more than that.

Do you feel angry that you're so much better than at least two people who are still in the running? You have moments of that. But honestly, you can't say Brooke's voice over Carly's, or Syesha's over Jason's. No one is competing in the same genre. I love that David's version of rock songs is completely different from my version.

You were the oldest contestant. Did you feel like you were performing with a bunch of children?
And the oldest among the P.A.s. I nicknamed myself Papa Johns. It was cool. I don't think it necessarily helped or hurt me.

Who were your good friends on the show?
Luke Menard and Jason Yeager and Carly and David Cook were my day-to-day buds. I had great moments with all of them. Syesha was just starting to come out of her shell with me. Once you get to know her, she's hilarious.

Any advice for your fans who don't know whose performances to watch 10 times anymore?
Life goes on. And hopefully, I'm going to make a killer record that will come out next year.

Do you think being Australian hurt you? Maybe people in the heartland of this country wanted a born-and-bred American?
I can't answer that. I can tell you that behind the scenes, people didn't care. The thing about this country is it's the melting pot of the world. If you live here and love this country, you can achieve anything.

Let's talk about the cravat. Whose idea was that — yours or stylist Miles Siggins'?
Miles had been wanting me to step up the fashion for a while. I thought you can't come out wearing leather jackets after two weeks, because people will say, ''Who is this idiot?'' I wanted to do a Tom Petty-meets-Scott Weiland look. The week I did ''We Are the Champions,'' Miles wanted me to do that kind of look, but I wanted to wait until the right time, which was Dolly week. I absolutely dug it. Miles is so talented. I have a saying: In Miles We Trust.

You're clearly a good-looking guy and you're living in Los Angeles. Any chance you'll be modeling or acting?
Music is all I can do. I can't act. And I certainly don't have the body for modeling.

Was Randy right that you should do bluesy soul stuff and not rock?
I love singing the bluesy soul stuff. It's totally what my record is going to sound like. But there's also going to be something you can dance to. And rock. It's going to be Otis Redding meets the Stones meets INXS.

There's a school of thought that some contestants don't want to win American Idol so they're not shackled with that title forever. What do you think?
People said that to me going in, that I don't want to be more than third or fourth. But it hasn't hurt Carrie or Kelly Clarkson. But Jennifer Hudson and Chris Daughtry and Kimberly Locke are fine too. It doesn't matter where you end up, if you stay true to your art.

What were you going to sing during Mariah Carey week?
I was going to do a really cool, bluesy version of ''Vision of Love.'' [Starts singing] ''You treated me kiiiiind...''

Did you just serenade me?
I did.

Let's just end there. No answer will top that.

Ramiele Malubay's Exit Q&A Interview

I got this from Entertainment Weekly:

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Ramiele, I felt for you last night when you broke down weeping.
RAMIELE MALUBAY: Yeah, I'm hearing that a lot today. A lot of people are like, ''I just wanted to grab your face!''

Did it come as that much of a shock that you were going home?
No. I felt like it was my time, not to think negative or anything. It was just a feeling I had the whole day. I felt awkward. I don't usually feel like that. It's not pleasant, let me tell you.

Oddly, the judges were more complimentary toward you this week than in previous weeks, and yet you went home. Did you watch your performance?
I try not to watch myself. I get really scared to see myself perform. When I do watch myself, I'm like, ''Off! Off!'' I'm so hard on myself.

Even this week?
Well, I thought at least I was moving and I was smiling.

That's true. Do you think the audience just didn't connect with you as much as they connected with other contestants?
I feel like the audience probably didn't like my song. Not everyone was going to like it. I knew that going into it.

Was it hard choosing a Dolly Parton song to sing?
I knew one Dolly Parton song.

''9 to 5''?
I didn't even know that! I was like, Crap! Everybody knows that song. I'm all bugging out. But the only song I knew was ''I Will Always Love You.'' How I went about picking my song was taking this list of songs I didn't even know. I listened to them to see which one I could tweak. But if it's not your genre, it's not your genre.

All of the contestants seemed genuinely sad you were going home. Were you everybody's best friend or something?
I was everyone's little sister. Even David Archuleta. Even though I'm older than him, he was always coming up to me and patting me on the head. I'm like, ''What are you doing, kid?'' We all just act like fools around each other. The world sees David Cook's serious side and Michael Johns' serious side, but you guys really need to see us when we're not performing.

Which contestant is the most different from his or her performing persona?
Probably Michael Johns. He's all serious when he sings and gives the sexy look. But when he comes offstage, he's just the biggest goofball of life. He's so obnoxious. You want to kick him for his sarcasm, but it works for him.

Who'd you live with these past few weeks?
Syesha has been my roommate.

Did you get close?
Well, you know when you vibe with people, like ''that's my sister,'' and then you have sibling rivalry? That's me and Syesha. We had our moody days: ''Don't touch me! I'm PMSing.'' And then we had other days where we were like, ''I love you so much.''

Sounds confusing. Let's talk about a simpler relationship. Your dad was so adorably supportive.
Yeah, my dad is a Buddha belly. All the other contestants' parents were like, ''I just made friends with your dad!'' He knows everyone and their mother now. He flew up every week. I don't think he should have. It was too much money.

Did you have a nice goodbye dinner last night?
I didn't have one. Everyone was spending time with their families. So everyone gave me a card they signed.

That's too bad. So are you heading back to the sushi restaurant?
Oh, no. I'm good. Love sushi, but no thanks.

Not funny at all.

If i was too stupid to fall for the joke, I'd probably get the PS3 (my sister's shouting PS3! PS3!
The best reality show in a looonng time

As you all know, i'm a huuuge reality tv freak. If i see any(!) on television, i immediately drop everything and keep my eyes glued to the tv screen. This is the reason i never get to finish my plates. While i was scrolling through the channels, i found.... (drumrolls please) KID NATION. Forget ANTM, forget Grey's Anatomy, forget PBB; all the drama happens here.

Now i've heard of this before in e! 40 kids are dumped (not placed) literally dumped in an abandoned western ghost town called Bonanza City. Apparently, this show caused a lot of stir in the US for allowing children around as young as 8 years old until 15 to live under these circumstances (no beds, no individual rooms, no toothbrushes, no phone, and no parents! dundundundunnn). They have to survive 40 days on their own while making the town a better place to live in.

Now, all 40 kids are divided into 4 districts: red, yellow, blue, and green. Every district has a leader that they must follow and (try to) respect throughout a looong periof of time. These 4 leaders make up the town council where they exercise power by choosing which reward to receive (more on that later). These 4 people cannot be voted out unless an re-election takes place, so dictatorship is not far off. They also decide who among the entire group of kids deserve a gold-star. The gold-star represents the most hardworking person in the entire bunch and is worth $20, 000. So them staying in the middle of nowhere isn't a waste of time after all.

Now, every district has to work for the "leveling up" of the town. There's the first class (3 guesses on what they do). That's right, absolutely nothing. For a district to be first class they have to win the reward challenge held every episode. The second placer becomes the merchants, the third the cooks. And the last goes to the laborers. If all kids finish the reward within a given time frame, they win a reward (note the 'a' reward). The host gives the town council a choice to pick from usually long-term-important-thing-in-the-real-world-things (like religous books) or what-the-heck-i-wanna-have-fun-things (like an 18 hole mini golf green). Now, it is the town council that decide what reward to pick. The other kids have no say whatsoever on the matter except a round of applause or a cheer of jeers. The drama that goes on when the town council picks a reward 80% of the kids do not like is AWESOME!!! Hahahaha... I don't wanna spoil too much but it's very very very very VERY entertaining to watch. My all-time favorite is when the council chose dental kits instead of a bbq cookout (they haven't eaten meat in a loooooooooooong time) then chaos ensued.

What makes the show so fascinating to watch is the kids themselves. These kids range from 7 year olds to 10 year olds who have to work together to make Bonanza City a better place. Now these aren't your whiny, spoiled brats. They are a smart and talented bunch of kids. There's this 9 year-old who knows the two sects of Muslims. Heck, I didn't know this until I was in 4th year high school. These kids work like farmers throughout the duration of the show. And when I mean like farmers, I wasn't exagerrating.

The interactions these kids make one another makes the whole show worth watching. Remember the tv show, Kids say the Darndest Things? Well, it's here, only unscripted and much much much funnier. Besides, what other show in televsion can turn a 10-year old girl into the biggest, laziest, most selfish, most annoying prick i have ever seen in TV in just one episode?!?!?!?!?!?!? Or have a speech war over who's better: Jews or Christians? Or how about a 12 year old saying Bush is a stupid cow? Feel free to tell me.

Yet as much as I love seeing 10-year old diva (bitch?) Taylor do nothing even if they have to cook and getting screamed at, the climax of the show is the change of personalities of the kids on the show. Kids learn their own faults expressed by their co-kid peers and it is amazing and heartwarming to see them change their ways in the show. It's hard to believe how these kids could change their bad attitude in less than 40 days where most people take a lifetime to do. Or sometimes never at all.

Kid Nation offers so much lessons that Barney combined with Dora combined with any educational show in the tube can't. This program shows how differences could be put aside and make a town of nothing into something livable. It goes to show how we could learn so much from kids. Believe me, I did.

Is Kid Nation worth watching? Hell yeah. The kids are the brightest reality stars I've seen in a long long long time who are more valuable and more insightful to watch than the losers on PBB (who are the laziest people I have seen in my entire life). Kid Nation is on Velvet every Wed at 6:30pm and Sat at 3:30pm. There's also a replay on Sundays, but I do not know the time. Go watch it. It's worth it.. . . . I said go

In the design of my tower, i incorporated the idea of the bahay na bato. The bahay na bato has two different features. The lower level is constructed out of stone while the upper floor is created from wood. I did not want to make my design too literal, so i used a metaphor. I devised my tower to have a sturdy lower area, that signifies the stone part of the bahay na bato. For this part, i incorporated the use of steel beams or iron grilles, similar to the Eiffel Tower. For the upper part, i wanted to place in glass windows, to signify the fragility of the upper floor of the bahay na bato compared to the lower floor. Synthesizing these thoughts together came my tower.

It's my birthday again tomorrow. I am not at all excited. I have a calculus exam on Tuesday. Normally, I'd cram, but then I failed (!!!!) the first time, so I really need to pass this time. On top of that, I have a loooong tower model I have to make. To make matters worse, it's not your ordinary tower, it has lots of steel bars sprawling around and glass. I have to include lighting pa. Hassle. Super. Guess no sleeping tonight. And finally, i'm wondering if my dodong will greet me tomorrow (see related post below). I'm not expecting him to anyway. Screw you dodong! The only thing i'm looking forward to si thursday. Wii party. Finally.
